I am really sore at the end of the day due to my client
needing to be repositioned in bed every 10-15 minutes. It seems I can't get him comfortable. What can I do so my client is comfortable and I am not so sore and at risk of hurting myself or the client?

Dear Caregiver,

When a client wants you to reposition them think of long term comfort instead of immediate needs. (Scenario) George is laying in bed all day long every day because he is bed bound and every 15 minutes he ask you to come back and reposition him because now his back hurts. This time elevate his legs and get a pillow for his back so you are thinking of long term comfort. Also I recommend you getting a back brace or gait belt to help move him. Don't for get to use proper body mechanics when transferring and repositioning a client in bed. Lift with your knees never with your back and use a draw sheet to reposition your client if you don't have one take a regular sheet fold it in half long ways and place it under neath him.
